Where did the time go?

The entire month of October...lost...never to be seen again...taken by ILEA.

From October 5th through the 30th, I was held captive at a law enforcement supervisor school. I've only been a civilian supervisor at the PD for the last 13 years and now they decide to send me to school.

Unfortunately, I had to attend with three worthless excuses for sergeants. I knew them to be lazy as officers and cringed when they were promoted. I later found out not one even passed the sergeants exam. They were promoted only after their years of service were added to their test scores. Yeah, that's who we need supervising the officers on the street.

Only one acted somewhat civil toward me during the trip. I don't know if their actions were because I'm a woman, a civilian, outrank them or a combo of all three. That's their tough sh*t. Funny thing, their supervisor (a woman) found out about their actions before they got back to work and had already planned on retribution.

There were some very good topics presented at the school. While others - not so much. The ROPES course is definitely something that I will use to get my teams to work better together. So after three tests, one research paper and a lovely case of bronchitis I was finally sprung loose. Oh and I had the highest score among the four of us! Suck that boys...

The best part of the time spent there was that the hotel had free hot breakfast every morning and also free 'cocktail hour' at the end of each day. The cocktail hour included free beer (yeah!!) and wine as well as different finger foods. The finger foods though were enough for a complete meal. Yeah, nothing like getting paid meal money and then eating for free...

RIP, October 2009.

Saying so long & the end of the trip...

Monday, August 17, 2009

We were up at 7 a.m. to meet my business partner (BP). KM and I had breakfast at the Roundtable buffet. It was good and very filling.

While KM went to UNLV to take care of her course along with the tuition, BP and I went to the pavilion and met with some of the vendors. We were at the pavilion until about 11:30. KM arrived around 1pm, just in time for me to meet her in the lobby and help her carry the two bags of ice and pretzels up to the room. After a quick ice change in the cooler and a quick kiss I went back down to the lobby to meet BP for our sessions. The first session at 1:30 was cancelled so while BP gambled for the next hour, I went to the room and played with KM.

After the sessions KM and I went to dinner at the Yardhouse where we shared spinach dip and moocho eggrolls and beers. We came back to the Hilton where we had more drinks. I lost some money while KM won some then broke even. We went back to the room to relax.

KM’s sciatic was acting up so she allowed me to massage her. She allowed me to massage her legs, feet and back while warm washcloths were soothing her back. We didn’t make love which is the only regret I have of the trip. That was my fault.

Tuesday, August 18, 2009

KM has a going away dinner tonight for her niece at 5pm and then her first class from 6:45 to 9:45 so we decided to get up early and spend some extra time together. We got up about 9:30 and after showers we headed to breakfast at the Sherwood Forest Café. It was close to 1pm which is the time that KM wanted to leave to get back in time for her activities, so we went back the room and brought her items down to the valet.

We loaded her items up in her vehicle and decided to drive to the back of the hotel to say a proper goodbye. It was extremely difficult to say goodbye.

Wednesday, August 19, 2009

I got up at 8am for the first session at 9:30. BP and I then hit the furniture vendors. We walked around the vendors and got a boxed lunch that they provided of a chicken club wrap.

Afterwards she and her husband hit the strip again and I went down and played black jack. I hit my first blackjack. I then played penny slots.

I ate and then cammed with KM until the 2:30 training session. After the program I played some more Double Agent till I moved to the blackjack table where I won $20.
I went back to the room and cammed with KM some more. When she needed to study and take a break, I went back downstairs to the poker bar and played until I hit a flush of Ace, 2, 3, 4 and 6 of spades. I kept playing as I felt lucky and hit 4 Queens! I still felt lucky so I kept playing and hit 4 Aces! I won $100 on the four aces and felt I better stop while still ahead. So I grabbed a burger from the ‘deli’ and went back to the room to eat.

KM and I cammed for a bit before going back downstairs where I played the ‘penny’ slots at Monopoly and won/held my own. After walking around, I went back to the room and cammed some more with KM. I went to bed early as the first morning session started at 8:15.

The remainder of the business trip was boring without KM around to play with. My BP and I left on Friday. I miss KM terribly and wish she was with me always.

Hoover Dam and back to Vegas...

Sunday August 16, 2009

My alarm went off at 9 a.m. and I took a shower. I wasn’t sure if KM was up as I until she texted me. I texted her asking her to come in there but she wouldn’t… :( It was worth a try though… ;)

KM made poached eggs for us as well as hash from the previous nights leftover veggies. Both were delicious. KM later looked at my laptop and removed the Trojan that was inflicted on it from my business trip to Dallas. We then headed out, back to Las Vegas. We took the other way back to Vegas by heading down the parkway then hooked up with Highway 93 north. This route took us toward the Hoover Dam.

We arrived at the Hoover Dam, parked and took a tour of the visitor’s center. I took a lot of photos of the dam and visitor’s center. Very pretty site! KM said that folks would jet ski in that part of the Colorado River but would do so with wetsuits as the water is very cold. On hot days like the one we visited it on, the cold water would be a welcome feeling.

We left the Dam and had lunch at the Tango Buffet Café located in the Hacienda Hotel and Casino in Boulder City, Nevada. We continued on our journey to the Hilton Hotel in Vegas.

While checking in, KM got us drinks. We decided not to upgrade for $20 a night. The room had two full-size beds which made for cozy nights. KM and I headed to our room (907-central) where KM took a shower and I headed down to meet my business contact. We went to the APCO registration where I got my bag and we walked around the vendors for a bit; we agreed to meet the following morning at 9:45.

I went back to the room and got KM then we headed downstairs to the casino. We played blackjack where I lost $20 and KM won $20. We ended up at a poker bar where we met a Deputy Chief named Tim O’Connell from Billings Montana. While laughing with him about the drugs he used to use & grow and his testifying about it in court, KM won $100 by hitting 4 deuces!!!

We drank a lot that night and after getting back to the room (relatively early), I couldn’t sleep so at about 1:30 I went downstairs to smoke. The next day when I told KM about it she was very surprised as she didn’t hear me leave or come back.

Driving to Arizona

Laughlin Casinos

Saturday August 15, 2009

We checked out at about noon and headed to the valet with the bellman carrying our bags. We stopped at the Goldrush Casino in Henderson for their $3.99 breakfast. It was a very good breakfast but poor service when trying to pay the bill.

After paying for breakfast we headed down the 93 freeway to Highway 95 enroute to Searchlight, Nevada. We stopped at the one and only gas station to stretch our legs and use the restroom. I smoked and played a couple of slots but not much happening in this town of 759 folks so we were on our way quickly.

We passed the town called CAL NEV ARI which is where the three states meet: California, Nevada and Arizona. As we were driving we saw signs for Needles California which is only 20 minutes south of Bullhead City, Arizona.
The drive into Laughlin is absolutely gorgeous. It winds through the mountains and has spectacular views. KM said that is her favorite part of the drive between her house and Las Vegas.

KM drove us through the town of Laughlin, Nevada and explained that Don Laughlin founded the town and still lives there. I took photos of the casinos as she drove. We drove over the Colorado River where she showed me the Davis Dam. KM then drove us through Bullhead City and showed me around town.

When we left Las Vegas, it was about 97 degrees. Upon arrival in Bullhead City it was 108 degrees.

We then went to KM’s house where she showed me around. I joked with her that I needed a map of her house just to get around! We settled in and cleaned up a bit. We decided on having steak and veggies for dinner and KM wanted to make the jalapeños with cream cheese and bacon. We stopped at the Safeway grocery store and bought the necessary items for dinner along with a cooler for the following week and some more toothpaste.

After arriving home from the store we made the jalapeños and drank some beer. KM prepared her veggies and the steak. We grilled the jalapenos first and it was a huge hit. Dinner was wonderful and perfectly prepared! Later after dinner we played a game called Shithead. The first game I was an ‘anti-shithead’ and KM lost so she was the shithead. I lost the next two games so I was the shithead for two games in a row. We retired for the night at 11:30 and agreed to get up at 9 the next morning. I stayed in KM’s guest suite with a very soft bed and beautiful bathroom.

Lemon Drops and Craps...

The Eiffel Tower, Paris Hotel.

Friday, August 14, 2009

We slept in since we were up until around 3 am again. I hopped in the shower and while KM was showering, went down to smoke. I played a few penny machines while smoking and sipping on a Dr Pepper. I also walked around and found the poker room. The sign says that Friday nights are Ladies nights and there is a $20 buy in. I may check that out after dinner tonight.

We decided to hit New York, New York casino for Crème Brule since it was already around noon. It was absolutely wonderful with a raspberry sauce on the plate and the Brule in a dish on top of that. We finished it all! Afterwards we stopped and played Craps. The dealer was trying to explain the rules etc but he had such a thick accent that neither of us understood except when he said put a chip there. It was a $10 minimum so I got two chips and won $10 the first hand. I immediately lost the next three and we left.

While at NY, NY I bought a baseball hat. We walked around the Excalibur and looked at the Poker Room to possibly play later on. We then we came back to the room to change for dinner and drinks.

KM drove us up to the Paris hotel where we went to have drinks at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant. We took a glass elevator up the tower to the bar. To get to the bar we walked through the kitchen. After sitting down, the bartender named Shea came over and greeted us. KM described the Pomegranate lemon drop that she had last time she was there with her mother and sisters and Shea said it was he who made if for them as it is his personal specialty. It was quite a surprise that Shea was still working there after so many years. Shea showed us the drink menu and said that before the drink called The Eiffel Affair came on the menu, the Pomegranate lemon drop was by far the number one ordered drink. He talked me into getting The Eiffel Affair which was a champagne based drink with fresh blueberries, raspberries etc. KM and I shared our drinks and she showed me the Bellagio water fountain from that view. While we were finishing up our drinks another couple came in. The lady looked frazzled. She said she had been shopping with kids all day and wanted a drink. The man asked what we were drinking. After explaining the two drinks and really selling the lemon drop, the wife ordered it. She loved it so much that she downed it and ordered another before we left.

We headed to dinner with some of KM’s friends at Geisha. It is Japanese (Chinese?) food where they cook it right in front of you on the grill at the table. Our waiter was Max and he was pretty funny. KM showed a couple of us how to use chop sticks. I actually ate most of the meal with them too. It was quite easy once KM showed me how. They were large portions and none of us were able to finish them. After dinner we visited until about 9pm.

We stopped at the poker room to see about the tournament but it didn’t seem to be going on. The ladies inside explained that there were games going on of unlimited 2 and 4 and limited 3 and 6. We decided not to play in a regular game but if there was a tournament then we would.

We walked around for a bit, played more video poker and drank. We later went to the room and made love. What wonderful sounds she makes!

Zumanity and a Bull...

Zumanity!

Stoney's Bull

New York, NY casino

Thursday, August 13, 2009

We slept in after making love. I took a shower first then came out and cuddled and played with KM. While KM was in the shower, I went down and played the penny machines.

Back in the room, KM left me a present of microfiber clothes and a sweet note that says “You are my angel I love being with you…xoxoxo”

We finished getting ready and headed back to the café for lunch/breakfast. We both had eggs and then decided to check out the blackjack tables but none were available. KM headed up to the room for a bit while I played a penny machine called Million Dollar Wheel (or something like that).

By the time we hooked back up it was later in the afternoon and had a couple hours before having to head to NY, NY so we found a blackjack table that we were both able to play at. There was only one chair at first and KM wanted me to play and since I had the $25 in chips from the day before from playing Texas Hold ‘em, I sat down. I won a couple hands, pushed a couple and lost one or so. The guy next to me got up so KM sat down and bought in for $40. She promptly worked her way up to winning $40!! We decided to head over to NY, NY to get the show tickets and play a bit. We played a few machines after not finding any blackjack tables for $5. We also got the tickets and then came back to the room. We changed and had enough time to relax for about 15 minutes before going back to NY, NY and playing a bit before the show. We both lost on the machines. KM was hungry so she got a foot long hot dog.

The show was called Zumanity and very funny and sensual. We had excellent seats in the second row from the stage and had a very close view of the characters. The pre-show had some of the characters coming out into the audience. There were two ‘waitresses’ who were very fat and dressed in French maid outfits offering strawberries. They went around the audience and would push their asses in women’s faces and their breasts in men’s. The show was a lot of fun and afterwards we ate mini-chimi’s at a Mexican Café and had a beer.

Afterwards, we already had plans to go to Stoney’s country bar and so that KM could drink, we cabbed it down the strip to the club. They had ladies night with $1 draft Busch and Busch light beer. We stayed long enough for a couple of beers, watched some chicks ride the bull and then left. After a bit, we decided to come back to the hotel.

KM made herself a gin and tonic in the room and I brought a beer from the room. There was an older gentleman sitting at KM’s machine who wasn't playing and was very gracious when I asked him to move so that she could have her machine. The bartender didn’t want to give me a free drink unless I played max-credits. So I played few max credits and then returned to single play. We got tired of playing so we went and checked out the band before heading up to the room.

After showers, we made amazing love for half the night! The marathon sex made me want another cigarette. So while KM was asleep, I headed down and smoked a couple. Upon boarding the elevators back up, a few frat boys were just checking in. They were confused on the floor and room number. They thought they were on floor 22. All the guys except one said they were on floor 22, but the one said no, it’s on floor 2 and they were on the wrong elevators. They were going to get off at floor 22 and then go back down. I spoke up and told them not to get off cuz they would be waiting forever for another car. I also told them about finding the other bank of elevators around the corner. By that time, my floor came up and as I got off, they were thanking me.

Sometime while we were sleeping, the battery in the smoke detector started chirping. It woke both of us out of a sound sleep. KM climbed up on a chair and ripped it off the ceiling, jerking the battery out. Fortunately, after we cuddled back together, we were both able to fall back asleep.

Third day in her gorgeous arms...

Exiting the restaurant and looking to the right...hmmm...

On Wednesday we got up early. I took a shower first as KM took a call from work. While KM took a shower, I went downstairs to smoke and played a couple of penny machines. I lost the first $5 so I moved to another machine that had video blackjack. I played with the same $5 and cashed out and came back to the room. I came back and set up a couple of massages for us at 2:30.

We left to meet KM’s friends at the Orchids Garden for some Dim Sum. Fortunately a couple of her friends knew what the dishes were. I’ve never been to a dim sum, but apparently the ladies push carts around with different selections on each plate and we point out what we want to eat. We had a great time sampling all the different dishes and had a wonderful visit. KM and a friend made a date to go to dinner on Friday night. Later on KM’s friend from last night texted her wanting to get together for dinner as well, so the four of us will be going to dinner.

We returned to the hotel and got ready for the massages. We arrived at the spa and were given robes and rubber sandals to put on and told to take showers using the different scented body soaps. We then donned our robes and sandals and went to the waiting room. Debbie was my masseuse and did a great job. I enjoyed my first deep tissue massage very much once I settled down and relaxed. She was able to work a few knots out! KM had a male masseuse and she said that he was able to work out her sciatic. She said she felt wonderful afterward and wasn’t hurting anymore.

We returned to the room and cleaned up a bit before heading back downstairs and eating a taco from Bahama Breeze. The chicken tacos are perfect! We then walked around the casino and played a bit of video blackjack. We watched a few hands of blackjack at the tables and then came back up to the room and practiced playing blackjack. After getting more comfortable with the game and rules, we went back down and played a few hands on the $5 table. I broke even when we went looking for a table that we both could play at. We couldn’t find any so we played video poker at a few different video poker bars. We then hung out in the lounge listening to The Klique band before going back to the room.

Flirtin' and playin' pool...

The ceiling inside the Hostile Grape...overlapped pieces of wood for a very cool effect!

The Hostile Grape...a little blurry but you get the idea...

The M Casino

With a lazy start we got up, showered and were out the door to get some food around noon. We have a double date with one of KM’s friends tonight.

While KM was showering, I went downstairs and played the penny machines and lost a whole $1…lol. I came back to the room after smoking and found a wonderful gift from her: a wireless weather station. I can’t wait to set it up at home!

We left the room and possibly got the maid in trouble as her manager was asking if she was done yet. We were stepping out of the room just in time to hear the maid say, ‘all but room 59 cuz they just went back into the room.’ She looked at us just as KM said, ‘we’re leaving now’. Everyone was laughing about it and she probably wasn’t really in trouble.

I don’t know what it is about traveling, but I can never stay ‘regular’. Since I am still backed up, KM wanted me to drink some coffee and have a bran muffin. So off to Starbucks we went for a caramel Macchiato. I tried my first coffee ‘drink’ from Starbucks. That was very nasty!! KM can’t believe that I didn’t like it. We took our muffin and coffee and went to the café for breakfast. KM had an Asian salad and I had scrambled eggs, smoked ham and hash browns. After breakfast we were feeling very lethargic and decided to drive (I love holding her hand in the car) to the new M casino, very far south on the strip. It’s a new casino and was very clean. KM observed that it was more like a business hotel with a casino as it had a lot of large meeting spaces. It also had a wine cellar called the Hostile Grape. It was closed while we were there and but the doors were unlocked and we walked around looking at the different wines offered. While at the M casino we played a few hands of computer blackjack. KM won about $19, doubling her money. I won a dollar and after cashing out, while walking past a machine called the Golden Monkey, put it in and lost.

After the M casino we drove to the far north end of the strip for some souvenir shopping. After shopping we came back to the hotel and cleaned up before heading out to eat at In-N-Out Burger. I’ve never had their food and had been hearing about their burgers for awhile. The hamburger and fries are very good and hit the spot before we left to go drinking. We ate and then drove to a gay bar called Freezone on Naples Drive. We were meeting KM’s friend and her date there, although they were a little late. KM and I played several games of pool, flirting and having a great time before they arrived. Once the others arrived they played on their own pool table while KM and I continued to play. We gave KM’s friend her birthday gifts and after awhile we played a game with KM and I versus the other two. KM’s friend ran the table quite a bit, but KM and I held our own. On our last game, it came down to them only having the 8 ball left and we had three balls (solid) left plus the 8 ball. It was my turn and I was able to sink all three of our shots then missed the 8 ball. KM’s friend’s date missed the 8 ball for her turn then KM got up and she sunk the 8 ball for our win! We ended up giving our quarters to them to play and we left.

KM and I walked across the street to the Piranha club to see the piranhas, but after talking with the doorman (who just got out of the armed forces) we discovered that they had been reported to the authorities and had to remove the fish and give them to Mandalay Bay Hotel. We also walked over to another club but it seemed both were dead so we left and came back to the hotel.

Walking back upstairs we grabbed a couple of bran muffins in hopes that it would help later. Then we freshened up in the room and then back downstairs to play some video poker and talk with Melanie (our favorite bartender). Walking to the video poker bar, we passed another lounge where the band from the previous night was doing a Tina Turner tribute. She was all dressed up and shaking her skirt like Tina does. The place was packed with no place to sit so we kept walking to our favorite poker bar.

Melanie was on a break so we played and chatted and ultimately moved machines several times as they weren’t playing that well. We sat there and drank quite a bit, playing when Melanie came back on duty. She was laughing with us again and we got to talking. She asked us what we did today so we told her about everything and then about Freezone. She asked what that was when KM told her that it was a gay bar. Melanie said after 5 failed marriages she may just be interested. She said she didn’t even know how she would meet someone, maybe a bar or online? After visually checking with KM, I told her that we met online. We laughed and chatted about this till we both got hungry.

We went to get another taco from Baja Fresh, however; it was so late that they were closed. So we went upstairs to McDonalds and had McDoubles that we brought to the room and ate. We took showers before going to bed and making absolutely amazing love!

Tomorrow we have a lunch planned with KM’s friends from Pilates. So we have to be up ‘early’ as lunch is at 1130. We probably went to bed about 3am.
